DEBUNKING MISLEADING ROBBERY NARRATIVE ABOUT LAUTECH
The attention of the leadership of NANS JCC Oyo State has been drawn to a misleading video circulating on social media, falsely suggesting that a robbery incident occurred inside Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH).
We wish to categorically state that the claims made in the video are entirely false and misleading. The video in question is a combination of two unrelated incidents: one showing a temporary power outage during a night class session at LAUTECH, and another scene from an entirely different location and city. The deliberate merging of these clips has created unnecessary panic among students and the general public.
The NANS JCC Oyo Public Relations Officer, alongside the student leadership and relevant security agencies, has thoroughly investigated this claim and found no evidence of any robbery incident taking place within LAUTECH premises. We urge students and the public to refrain from spreading unverified information that could cause unnecessary fear and disruption within the academic environment.
This event (video) circulating is misleading and not worthy of any attention. The leadership of the NANS JCC Oyo remains steadfast in ensuring adequate and effective student welfarism in all our campuses and student communities.
We understand the concerns of students regarding security, and we assure the student body that we remain committed to working closely with the school management and security agencies to maintain a safe and conducive learning environment.
We encourage all students to stay calm, vigilant, and report any security concerns through official channels rather than relying on misleading narratives. Together, through cooperation and factual communication, we can ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
Signed,
Comrade Joshua ADEYANJU
Public Relations Officer, NANS JCC Oyo
