Folarin Falana (born October 27, 1990), best known by his stage name Falz, is a Nigerian rapper, composer, and actor. His musical career began in high school, when he created a group named The School Boys with a classmate.

He began his professional music career in 2009, achieving considerable popularity with the release of the song "Marry Me," which featured Poe and Yemi Alade. Falz founded the indie record company Bahd Guys Records and released his debut album, Wazup Guy, in 2014. His succeeding albums are: Stories That Touch (2015), 27 (2017), and Moral Instruction (2019).
Falz Early Life and Education
Falz was born in Mushin, Lagos State, to Funmi and Femi Falana, human rights advocates and attorneys. He completed his elementary and secondary education at Olashore International School in Osun State and St. Leo's Catholic Primary School in Ikeja before earning an LLB from the University of Reading in England. After finishing his studies at the Nigerian Law School in Abuja, he was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2012.
Falz Career
Falz's interest in music began as a hobby in secondary school, when he founded The School Boys music group. In 2009, he released Shakara: The Mixtape, a collection of his earlier songs. His 2011 hit "Wahz Up Guy," followed by "High Class" and "Currency," helped him gain recognition in Nigeria's music industry.
Falz was listed as one of tooXclusive's "Artistes to Watch" in 2014. Later that year, he released Wazup Guy, his debut album, which featured a number of well-known producers and musicians. Due to the album's success, he was nominated for multiple accolades and received multiple hits in 2015, including "Ello Bae," which garnered him recognition at the Nigeria Entertainment accolades and The Headies.
After releasing Stories That Touch, his second studio album in 2015, Falz worked with Simi on hits including "Jamb Question" and "Soldier." In 2016, he received Best Actor in a Comedy Movie/Series at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for his work in Jenifa’s Diary and the Viewer’s Choice Best New International Act at the BET Awards.
Falz Personal Life
There were allegations about Falz dating fellow musician Simi before her marriage to Adekunle Gold, however these suspicions were refuted once Simi and Adekunle tied the knot.
